Editorial Policy

Who writes what you read here, how it is checked, and how we correct it.

Who writes and approves the content

The pages on the Canadian site, and any articles published there, are written and published by UM Tax and Accounting Inc. The firm is responsible for what they say.

Use of AI tools

Drafts may be prepared with the help of AI tools. A draft is only a draft: every page and article is checked and approved by UM Tax and Accounting Inc. before it is published.

Sources

Statements about tax rules are written from primary sources, such as the Canada Revenue Agency’s own pages and federal and Ontario legislation. We keep a record of the source behind each statement, and we will tell you which one a statement rests on if you ask.

Keeping tax content current

The Tax Deadlines and Tax Rates pages list a date or rate only once it has been checked against the CRA. Other pages describe the rules in general terms and do not state a tax year, so check with us before relying on them. When we learn that a rule described on a page has changed, we correct the page.

Corrections

If we find an error, or you tell us about one at hello@umairmanzoor.com, we correct it.
