How we are making this website usable for everyone, and how to tell us when it is not.

Our commitment
UM Tax and Accounting Inc. wants everyone to be able to use this website and to reach us, including people with disabilities. We take the principles of Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) as our guide: dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity.
The standard we aim for
We aim for the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We do not yet claim that it does. Today:
- a “Skip to content” link is the first thing a keyboard reaches on every regional page
- the menus, the service filter, the region switcher and the cookie settings panel can be used with a keyboard alone, and Escape closes them
- if your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns its animations off
- the site’s navigation still works with JavaScript turned off
Known limitations
- The Tax Deadlines and Tax Rates tables are not yet published.
- The two floating contact buttons stay on screen as you scroll, and on narrow screens they can sit over the edge of the text beneath them.
- The site has not yet had an independent accessibility evaluation.
